HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — A Huntsville mailperson was robbed at gunpoint on Wednesday afternoon, according to a spokesperson with the United States Postal Service (USPS).
A spokesperson with the Huntsville Police Department (HPD) told News 19 the robbery took place shortly before 12:20 pm at an apartment complex off Martin Road and they were still searching for a suspect.
Around 3 pm, the United States Postal Service (USPS) confirmed the victim was a USPS Letter Carrier. According to HPD, they believe the incident was isolated.
A spokesperson with USPS said that the carrier is “shaken up but is, thankfully, otherwise unharmed.” The US Postal Inspection Service is actively working this investigation with the Huntsville Police Department.
