Special counsel Jack Smith, who is investigating former President Donald Trump’s handling of classified documents, is leaning up pressure on one of Trump’s lawyers to testify before a grand jury, a person familiar with the matter told CBS News Thursday.
Prosecutors argue that they need to learn more about an alleged June 24, 2022, call between Trump and his lawyer, Evan Corcoran. At the time, investigators were seeking to secure documents at Trump’s home and video surveillance tapes of Mar-a-Lago.
ABC News first reported that investigators were seeking to question Corcoran.

A national court competition focused on Indigenous issues and the Coastal GasLink Pipeline
Northern British Columbian residents participated in the 2023 Kawaskimhon Moot, a court competition that has participants from nearly every law school in Canada.
The competition took place earlier this month and was hosted by the University of Victoria Faculty of Law.
Kawaskimhon is a nêhiyawêwin (Cree language) word that means “speaking with knowledge.”
This moot is unique in that it centers Indigenous legal orders alongside federal, provincial, and international laws.
